cFire supports Seattle Children’s Hospital at the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic by providing their community messaging initiatives on three LED lobby screens.

Challenge

Seattle Children’s OBCC is an influential leader in community-focused health care and a champion of its diverse neighborhood community. In 2022 OBCC sought to upgrade its location experience to better engage and communicate with patients and families, to enhance community diversity, and to increase visibility of its commitment to the community.

Work

OBCC in collaboration with digital content studio cFire tested ways to use the newly installed SNA Displays digital screens in the lobby and staircase locations to create a better onsite experience. After an initial test featuring calming nature scenes from cFire’s extensive video content library, OBCC hired cFire to create a looped playlist of compelling visual content on newly designed colorful graphic templates featuring important health care and community messages in five languages: English, Spanish, Somali, Chinese and Vietnamese.

The digital content and programming was designed by cFire to engage kids, families and caregivers in their own languages, reflecting back the actual diversity, passion and spirit of the community, and to clearly share the OBCC values and mission in a highly-engaging and attractive manner visible from the street, and as it welcomes and educates visitors along their journey into the OBCC space for appointments and procedures.

Results

Kids, members of the community and their families have literally recognized their own faces on the displays, and proudly visit, and bring others to visit OBCC, to see the digital screens in action. Positive feedback is routinely communicated by guests to the OBCC receptionists, the communications in their native languages being particularly appreciated.

The digital content initiative is lauded as a bright, calming, assuring experience that instills knowledge and confidence to kids, families, caregivers and staff. The work effectively celebrates the diversity of the community while it engages visitors in their own language about the health care, wellness and community topics that matter most, and increases the visibility of the powerful impact of OBCC and Seattle Children’s Hospital.
